Low Barrier Homeless shelter does not have any restrictions on the homeless who move in. Basically, people can live when they arrive. This is very different from the well-known affordable housing and other housing that requires applicants.

At the first ZOOM hearing on February 13, the team members in charge of the project introduced that there are 80-120 container shelters on Lawrence & Benton, which will "serve a lot of people re-entering from jail and other institutions", according to Brian Greenberg, VP of LifeMoves.

Consuelo, the Director of the Office of Supportive Housing, SCCounty, also added: "I will kick it off just by saying ..interim housing we do like to provide low barrier entry...people with criminal background will be permitted to stay”. At the same time, the shelter here is only provided for single or childless couples.

There are 24 schools within 1 mile of Shelter, the nearest is only 200 meters apart! Bella Vista, another homeless shelter 0.5 miles away, is about to open!
